Nethu I had been to the pantry along with 2 of my colleagues, and naamadhan Nyabagathin Nayagi aache, perfect-a mobile-a marandhu vachutu vanten. And I realized that only after I came back to my desk. Saridhan, oru efficient organization ache, mobile tholainju pogadhu-nra hope-oda I called up my mobile and someone, apparently the security, picked it up and asked me to come to the main building. Cool, kidaichachu mobile-nu I went there.
I went up to the security once I reached the building and told him that I had lost the mobile:
Me: Mobile...tholaichutten...
CID Shankar: Enna mobile?
Me: Its a Motorola
CID: Enna color?
Me: Blue
CID: Eppadi irukum?
Me: (??!!! Ella mobile-um number pad, LCD-oda dhane irukum? Illa vera edhavadhu pudhu concept vachitangala?) Err...kutti-a irukum (that was the best I could manage, and I am sure no one uses a mobile the size of a telephone receiver!)
He showed me the phone and I immediately acknowledged that it was mine.
CID: Seri, mobile # call pannunga andha phone-lerndhu (and pointed to a phone some 10 feet away)
Me: 'Karmam da! Naan poi pannumpodhu vera yaravadhu call panna naan-nu ninaipeengala?' (I called up from my colleague's mobile and the call went through and he was satisfied apparently. But again, how can he ascertain that it was from the mobile I had in hand, and not some co-incidence?)
CID: Please write down your details on this book
I wrote everything down including my mobile # and took the phone from him. As he was handing over the phone, he asked me, "Indha mobile ungaladhudhane?"! Phone-a pidungittu "endhu illa, ippo enna panveenga, ippo enna panveenga..."-nu azhagu kattitu oda arambikkalama-ntu yosikara level-ku poiten! That's how childish the procedure was!
He could have asked me where I had lost it in the first place. Secondly, he should have asked me to call up from the phone next to him, so that he can verify the number. Thirdly he also should have asked for my ID card when he wanted me to write down all the details. Onnu complete-a nambanum, illana suthama namba koodadhu..why do a half-baked enquiry? This way I could have sent any of my friends down there to get my mobile! Oru nalla system in place iruka vendama security procedures-ku? Kadaiseela kelvi vera, idhu ungaldhudhane-ntu!!!! Kodumai da sami!

Usha- Its nothing wrong to tell abt the security guy..
He is on his duty.. think of the case if some one other than you had received your phone with false claim then he had to suffer..
As far I know, any thing they found anonymous in office campus will be entered in the register and then they(security office) are fully responsible for that.
Once you identify that your phone was with security some time back and they have given it for false claim.. what will be your first action.. you will shoot the security. Isn't it?.
I know abt this process because I am frequent in missing my key with the bike While parking and suffer only at the evening when I leave the office.. yellam oru anubhavam thaan...

Because i saw this placard in one(Indias Best) of the Efficeint Oraganization:

unga tamil enakku romba pidichirukku.. ;) enakku intha link ippo than kidachithu.naan normala ellam en manasula pottu kozhappipen..but u seem to have an excellent way to get to know ppl and solve/share issues and small nothing which happen everyday. grt going
