Hello everyone! Happy New Year, and happy Pongal too!! The site has been dormant for quite sometime, but adhukaga kodumai ellam nadakkala-nu thappa ninaichudadheenga. Ok, I just got back from the movie called Pokkiri, London-la 12th anike release aayachu (India vazha rasiga perumakkale, idhellam yaarum kekka matteengala?) and I had to write about it...avalo interesting movie.

First of all, enna story-nu neenga yosikave koodadhu, Vijay rasigara, just get in and watch Vijay, that should be your source of entertainment. It is just a series of murders executed with a high degree of violence, that I was admiring the imaginative skills of whoever made this movie. Vijay is introduced as a rowdy, but hey, do we see any trace of roughness in him? Adhuvum the supposedly punch dialogue "naan oru mudivu eduthutten-na appuram naan solradhaye naan kekka matten" - coffee vadiyara mugathoda he delivers the dialogue that I doubt if the thugs would really be scared. The cute actress called Asin (sandoshama Asin-oda fans?) comes with a lot of flour on her face, that even Vijay peels a little off her face in a scene and asks her what it is! and the inspector who has a lust towards Asin, dude, do you have to literally show your "jollu"?

Thideernu second scene-la, Anandraj oru super pose tharuvar parunga oru boat-la...whoa! thats the death sign for all ad models or cine stars! My humble request to actors (yaravadhu edhavadhu actors-oda touch ellam vachirundeengana message pass pannunga), if you have put on weight, and if you also resemble a bear, please do NOT give such striking poses, the young hearts might possibly face a heart attack!

I know Prabhudeva was a dance master, but adhukaga scene-ku scene song vacha naanga ellam evalo thadavaidhan popcorn vanga poradhu?

Now, I know you are thinking that either I am one spoilsport of a movie-goer or someone who cant appreciate good things in life. Appadilam ninaikadheenga, there are a few good things too here - vadivel's comedy. Sila idathula gross-a irundhalum, niraya scenes nallave irundhadhu..for example, where he imagines himself to be Surya in Suttum vizhi sudare song...sema comedy adhu..I actually hit my forehead on the frontseat (vizhundu vizhundhu sirichenama). Appuram PrakashRaj's comedy, oh yes, avardhan idhula villain, aana parunga, avardhan comedy panrar! Endha oorla oru don ivalo comedy panvar-nu therila, he must be one heck of a take-it-easy guy! Oh well, I should also thank the movie for teaching me how to whistle (but naan theatre-la try panrache varala, maybe asin madhiri mathavanga finger dhan use pannanumo ennamo)

I see all signs of a box-office hit - no storyline, lots of violence, glittering star-cast, and above all, no sense. Vijay and Asin fans would surely like it, as evident from the fact that the folks who came along with me appreciated the movie. Theatre-la there were..let me count..we were 7 in all, then there was a 7 diagonally behind us, and then a 3 behind us..oh yes, thats about it - only 17 of us were present for the movie, but hey, this is London, not Chennai!
