Adhanda Idhanda Indian doctor naandhanda!!!

Idho paaru namma ooru doctoru!
Ok, indha post-oda main reason pona post-ku vandha comments dhan. Some of the comments sounded like we dont have a proper system in place in India, adhu unmaidhan but namma oorlayum sila pala nalla doctors irukanga. And that is one of the reasons, I dont agree that India-la mothame corrupted unsystematic approach-ntu.

A few years ago, when I was in college and also doing my NIIT, ennoda Amma-va en scooty-la ethikittu NIIT ponen. My college was in AnnaNagar and NIIT was in Parrys (aama, naan 3 different parts of Chennai college days-la connect pannindhen :))). Thirumba varumpodhu we were conversing and at some junction she said "Parthu Usha, oruthan vengama side-lerndhu varan". I avoided that person and oru 20 metres poirupen, ennada pinnadi weight-um therila, kuralum kanume-nu thirumbi partha...en Amma-va kanom!!

Padhari adichutu, I stopped my scooty and turned back to find my Mom lying on the road near the platform. She had fallen down, and being hit by the platform, had become unconscious. Eppadi vizhundanga-nu therila, but anyways, I gathered my senses and arranged for an auto to take her to the nearest hospital, which happened to be Kilpauk medical hospital. Enaku slight-a hesitation irundhadhu, ennada inga vandhirukome-nu, but well, I didnt have a choice and I admitted her there.

Scan pannanga, X-Ray eduthanga to check her head injury and she was taken on a mobile stretcher to another room where she was treated by a doc. And a few minutes later, she regained consciousness much to my relief and asked me "En inga vandhen?"...I could barely suppress my apprehension that she'd ask who I am, but ok, avanga kekkala. Appuram doc kitta pesinen, and he asked me to admit her in a private hospital and that the preliminary treatment has been taken care of.

Kilambumpodhu naan usual procedure dhane-ntu, avarkitta unga fees enna-nu ketten...avlodhan!! Pottu midhi midhi-nu midhichuttaru, "enma neenga educated dhane (aamama, college padikarenla), oru govt hospital vandhu panam tharenreengale, arivilla ungaluku?"-ntaru! "Illa sir, normal-a doctor fees...", "Naan kettena? velila enna ezhudhiruku? Free medication-ntudhane? (and suddenly growing suspicious) vera yaravadhu inga kettangala?" I had to hastily hide the fact that the maid and the stretcher-guy had asked for money, "Illa illa, theriyama panten, sorry"-ntu escape aayiten. And then I took my mother to Apollo hospital and admitted her, and then called up my dad..adhellam vera kadhai.

But the point here is that, India isnt 100% corrupted that we are completely hopeless in India when it comes to hospitals. And since then, I have never been able to accept if someone says negatively, enna college padikumpodhu manasula padhinju pochu parunga.

Usha:
India professionals are always talented and one of the best.

But all i am saying is the medical system that we have in our country.

Countries like US and UK give more value for human life.I really cant accept the fact that u r blaming abt their medical processes.

U dont know how much care these ppl take in terms of road safety..fire alarms..disaster backup etc etc and how they can go down in hospital facilities.

Have u noticed there is lane called fire lane and if u take any of the maps here..all these fire lanes will cover every part of the city. And this lane is exclusive for fire engines.

Its the safety for human life that admired me very much in these two countires. So only intha koval.
I have seen 5-6 real life experiences(both in Uk and US) where life have been saved which wouldnt be the case if it were india.

All you have quoted in u r blog where minor health problems which i am sure will have optimized way which we might not know.

And me being an Indian want to copy these best practices to our home too. There is nothing wrong in that.

Labaks, he said that there are no advanced techs in that hospital and suggested a private hospital..and I think GH-kellam edho improve pannirukanga-ntu recently.

Gops, the other day I was talking to a doctor when I was returning to India via Singapore. Avar sonnar in doc profession, it will take a minimum of 10 years to start earning what a s/w eng earns in a year.

WA, correct ninaikaren, ippadidhan naadu odudhu..

Logic, you got me wrong. I am not blaming US/UK for their methods, aana they are too idealistic, and i wont say their methods are optimal. Innoru incident, if all those mentioned in my previous post werent enough, en collegue oruthan was scared that he had bird flu and called up the hospital and said he has some severe symptoms..and the other end replied rather rudely that they cant give appt and asked him to get some medicines..idhuku enna solreenga? And yes, enakum India niraya vishayathula munneranum-nu aasaidhan.

Ambi, unnai madhiridhan oruthan koduthan, avan nalla vishayamdhane pannan.

I agree with Paurna. "for every single person like the doctor u mentioned there 99 other corrupt doctors."
Yeah, it would be unfair to say that all Indian govt officials are corrupt, but they've rightfully earned that tag. The presence of a few good apples in a spoilt lot does little to change their image.

1st time here.. docs probably behave differently with different ppl.. they wud probably not hassle some one who seems well off or say middle class and above but poorer ppl are subjected to a few probs.. and that too it depends on doctor to doctor.. I havent been faced with any such situation so it wudnt be fair for me to comment.. but at other places, they treat u 1st and then send bill home.. here in the US atleast - thts the case.
