Ooru vittu ooru vandhu...
Indha oorla irukardhu is getting a lot scary these days. Edho onsite vandhoma, 4 idam suthinoma, sandoshama irundoma-nradhe kanom. I am not sure about other places, but London is becoming an unsafe place. So indha blog enikkavadu gets dormant-na, maybe its something wrong up here in London :)) Ok ok, Indianangel, I am not insinuating at anything negative here, but konjam terrified-a dhan iruken naan and am trying to make it sound light. Or it is maybe that as usual enakudhan ellam thappu thappa nadakudho ennamo..
Recently there was this news: underground station-la, there was this guy who just glanced at another guy who was talking to his gf. They were apparently fighting, but indha payyan adhai kettana-nu therila. Anyways, so it was just a glance. Train vandadhu, and rendu guys-ume boarded the same compartment, and after a few minutes of the departure of the train, the second guy came up to the first guy and killed him! And this first guy was a student and wanted to sign up for the army. Super-a illa? Oruthan parthadhuke kolai panranga indha naatla..yarayum parkave koodadhu poliruku, even by the way of looking around casually. Naan erkaneve nalla paraku parkara case (I mean, in the good sense), so inimel velila pona I am planning to wear 4 layers of padded clothing, followed by 1 layer of red ink, and then my dress..kuthinappuram ratham vandha velai mudinjadu-nu ninaichuppanga la..he he..nethu Dhoom2 partha effect idhellam.
Ok, so I was thinking idhellam engayavadhudhan nadakum, just that wrong people wrong time and wrong place. Kadaiseela partha, namake aapu vaikaranga! I am not saying I faced a very severe situation, but whatever trivial thing that happened has quite scared me. On Wednesday, I had been to a night show of Casino Royale in my locality. Thirumba varumpodhu, it was slightly raining and dark, and I was wearing my coat's hood too. Appo roadla sila teenagers irundhanga, you would think they are just teenagers, that is what I thought too. Thideernu two of them came to me asking "is that a man or a woman", and we just kept walking. One of them touched me from behind, and naan rombave kaduppaiten - I mean, who the heck is touching me-nu - and I said "Get lost!" and walked away. Konja neram they were laughing saying "ok, thats a woman" appadinu, but thideernu I dont know what hit their brains, one of them, a girl came running behind me and started yelling at me. Thirumba partha, she started asking me "Do u want me to smack you up?", I was for a moment shocked. This kid, who probably is in her teens, is threatening me, considerably elder to her. I asked her, "what is it to you whether I am a man or a woman?" and she continued yelling "do you want me to smack you up?", and my anger started rising.
Not that I am the kind who hits people, aana normal-a namakellame kobam varumillaya if being unfairly threatened, adhan enakum vandhadhu. I was thinking, why cant we just hit this impertinent kid, when her friends surrounded us, and oru chinna payyan - nijamave kutti paayan, may be he is 11 or 12 - started yelling at me using all possible expletives. En kooda vandha nallavar (he he) started asking them, "why do you want to hit her", and this girl justifies herself saying I told her to get lost! Aniyayama therila? Ivanga vandhu chumma poravala thoduvangalam, naan aana thitta koodadham! He pacified me saying 'Usha, dont get tensed' and apologized to them, and naanum 'sorry'-nu kaduppoda avangala parthu sonnen. Appovum kooda they didn't want to let us go and were threatening us. So mudive panten, seri nammala pottu thakka poranga, suthi yaarume illa, gaali di Usha nee-nu. Appodhan yet another kiddo from that gang came and said "hey, c'mon leave them" and started pushing them away. Then konjam light-a we got relieved, and we started walking the other way.
But I was so tensed the way back, and seething with anger. Enna kodumai parunga, these "thugs" are just teenagers, younger than us, and still they had the upper hand. And they might have attacked us with knives or anything, and still escape coz as far as I learnt, there are not laws that arrest teenagers, and they can get away with this. Maybe I am wrong, but that is what my colleague told me. Aana romba aniyayam, I am scared these days to walk after hours anywhere, konjam gumbala yaraiyavadhu parthutta I shiver inside and try taking longer steps towards home :))
